I am an Indian artist, who explores migration, the body, and collective memory with paintings, prints, and sculptures. These ideas present themselves as forms of world building, where the imagined and the remembered overlap, and atmospheres echo unknown but familiar spaces. I use lines as a way to mark time, providing a framework for stories my mother and grandmother told me growing up. Translucency in pigments and delicate paper are important elements for me to work with the tangible act of covering and recovering experience, and an attempt to make sense of being here.
